So, what's next?

alive and kicking and ad33 have been serving the community of Kinver for many years now and we have been thinking about how to develop its work to help more young people, and potentially more people of all ages, to connect with God and come to know him better. In planning this year's weekend away, as I explained at our akwa service in church, we were challenged by the verse 1 Corinthians 10:31: "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."

So, as I started, where do we go from here? Well, we feel that God is calling us to develop a network of small groups alongside alive and kicking, each building safe community and exploring how we can worship God through the gifts and abilities he has given us. Each group will be focussed around an activity or interest (eg. football, cookery, engineering, discussion), exploring together how to give back to God what He has given us.

This is an experiment, we don't have all the answers, but we think it is important to explore how we can worship and recognise God in the normal things we do. Of course, if these groups are going to work we need to recognise our place as a part of the wider church, the one body of Christ, of which we are all a part. So we also need to consider a time and place in which we all the groups can come together, share and serve each other. We also want to be integrated into the worship of our existing church congregations and to be open to including members of these in our exploration of worship.

If you are intrigued and want to know more, or think you might like to be involved in some way, then please check out details of the vision or get in touch.

Hoping to see many there!
