"get started"

the 2006 alive and kicking weekend away saw 41 young people, 22 leaders and a team of 15 expert chefs and cleaners invade a fruit farm in the wilds of ledbury for 48 hours of fun, games, faith and God. taking Jesus' parable of the sower, redefined (formerly exalt) were again on hand to help us "get started". teaching, discussion, worships, games, sports and activities helped us to explore the different types of seed and what they represented, before looking at what it meant to our lives.

music workshop - farmer joe

Farmer Joe threw the seeds in the air to sow
Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe
But the seed fell down on the path to grow
Tried to grow, tried to grow, tried to grow
The birds flew down and picked it up
Picked it up, picked it up, picked it up
So the seeds didn't have a chance to grow
Didn't grow, didn't grow, didn't grow

Farmer Joe threw the seeds in the air to sow
Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe
But the seed fell down on the rocks to grow
Tried to grow, tried to grow, tried to grow
The sun blazed down and the seeds shrivelled up
Shrivelled up, shrivelled up, shrivelled up
They tried to sprout but the roots didn't grow
Didn't grow, didn't grow, didn't grow

Farmer Joe threw the seeds in the air to sow
Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe
But the seed fell down in the thorns to grow
Tried to grow, tried to grow, tried to grow
The brambles sprung up and choked the seeds
Choked the seeds, choked the seeds, choked the seeds
They started to grow but they fell back down
Didn't grow, didn't grow, didn't grow

Farmer Joe threw the seeds in the air to sow
Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe, Farmer Joe
And the seed fell down on the soil to grow
Tried to grow, tried to grow, tried to grow
The soil was good and full of food
Full of food, full of food, full of food
So these seeds grow to help farmer Joe
Farmer Joe, farmer Joe, farmer Joe

So take my word and hear it well
The seeds grew to crops and they were swell
