soul survivor
30th july-4th august 2010, stafford showground.

we took an ak group to soul survivor - the country's largest Christian youth event. start the summer with a fun and relaxing weekend away in a tent. soul survivor conferences began in 1993 and grew out of the 'new wine' family conferences. the vision for the soul survivor conferences is to offer time away that is specifically for teenagers with loads of fun stuff going on, where Christians and non-Christians can come and hang out but the heart of it is about worshipping God, learning what it means to be a Christian practically and spiritually and experiencing the Holy Spirit personally. soul survivor now attracts around 28,000 people over four conferences.

soul survivor is a mix of huge main sessions, seminars, workshops, sports, cafés, cinema, skate park and an after hours programme of all the latest bands, artists and workshops. so from worship to bible teaching, prayer to social action, jazz café to arcade games, fair trade to disco, big-screen movies to late night worship, skateboarding to basketball to frisbee to football, dance to crafts and a whole load more, there's lots to keep you occupied, challenged and entertained more about soul survivor please turn over for practical information about the event.

greenbelt festival 2009
28th-31st august 2009, cheltenham

"Greenbelt is an independent Christian charity working to express love, creativity and justice in the arts and contemporary culture in the light of the Christian gospel. That's what the mission statement says anyway. And it's true. In as far as words can ever sum up what Greenbelt is all about. Which they never will be able to. Remember: you'll never really 'get it' until you come along. And then you'll be hooked. Promise!"

this year for the first time we took a group to greenbelt, the uk's biggest Christian music and arts festivals. we joined 20,000 others at cheltenham racecourse for a long weekend of camping, activities, internationally-renowned bands and speakers, activities, exhibitions, good food and more.

london weekend
19th-21st may 2006, london

ok, so it wasn't an mayc event at all but we had no other page for it.

9 young people and 4 leaders took a relaxing trip down to london for the weekend (with many thanks to dave for all his driving). travelling by minibus, train and tube we stayed at the lantern arts centre attached to raynes park methodist church and share Jesus international. two very comfy floors meant a surprisingly restful night for all, saturday dinner was taken off leicester square (riot police and all!) and the sonorous strains of sat nav yoda's "left you must turn, right you must turn" and "congestion charging, you must pay!" kept us all amused for the long journeys. some amazing time was spent with God and everybody had an amazing, challenging and exciting time.

members of ak joined over 700 other people for a national weekend when mayc took over cliff college, in the derbyshire countryside. there was celebration of the past and looking to the future in one 'intense' party!

accommodation was 'in tents' and, as part of the saturday night show, we provided two of the dance numbers - "stayin' alive" and "sweet dreams my la ex". along with workshops, awe-inspiring worship, a great walk to the top of the cliffs which give cliff college its name, some irish dancing, welly wanging, frisbee and the most amazing weather you can imagine, we had a great time celebrating God's glory and building some great friendships.
