vision of ad33

ad33 aims to help young people, especially but not exclusively through:
  1. the provision of a supportive community, with a Christian ethos, in which they can explore matters of life and faith as part of their development in becoming mature and responsible citizens.
  2. the provision of recreational and leisure time activities to encourage social interaction and build healthy relationships.
key to this vision is providing a safe, welcoming and relaxed environment where people are able to be themselves in safety. ad33 tries to be credible, relevant and adaptable, recognising that different people's needs may well be varied as well as changing over time. the aim is to provide a living community where people can come together and belong, despite any differences. it is recognised that this will sometimes involve sacrifice or compromise on matters of style and personal taste for those involved, to more effectively communicate with those who are not, whilst remaining true to the purpose of each group forming part of ad33. there is a balance to be found between being natural and uncontrived whilst challenging individuals to explore their faith and beliefs.

ad33 is an outward-focussed (evangelistic) vision. all expressions of this vision should exist primarily for those who are not yet involved. that is not to say that those already part of the groups should be ignored, but that those who are already involved should be strengthened and nurtured so as to reach others.

ad33 aims to contribute to building a church family in kinver (but not exclusive to kinver) meeting in a variety of ways, including traditional and established forms of church as well as newer initiatives such asopenfresh expressions. part of this involves building on the work of the current initiatives represented on this website.

above all, ad33 aims to be church community at the centre of the wider community.
